Often reduced to its resorts and beachside cocktails, the Dominican Republic hides many other treasures for those who take the time to explore it. A lover of this island since childhood, Sébastien Roux hopped on a small 150cc local motorcycle to discover its roads, culture, and inhabitants. A Mexican Odyssey

From February 11 to March 22, 2020, Sébastien Roux traveled across four states (Mexico, Puebla, Oaxaca, Chiapas) as a freelance journalist. He immersed himself in this vast country, met inspiring locals, and discovered the riches of its culture.

It all started with an opportunity. The opportunity to immerse himself for three weeks in Benin, a small West African country located between Togo and Nigeria. In Grand-Popo and then Porto-Novo, Sébastien Roux discovered voodoo, far from the usual clichés.

Riding electric bikes from Balsthal to Saignelégier, Sébastien Roux imagined this trip would be a breeze. Over 130 kilometers in two days, with a night in Saint-Ursanne. His thighs were burning, but the fun remained intact.
